Music

I love music! I can appreciate most genres of music with a few exceptions. My top musical genres however....if we must label them would be Old School Classic Heavy Metal (70's-80's), Blues, Rock, Southern Rock, and Acoustic Guitar Stuff. Basically if the guitar playing is great or the playing of any instrument for that matter is proficient, then I usually dig it.

I've been playing music since 3rd grade when I first took up the Clarinet. I played Clarinet in school band for about 6 years until 1978 when I went to my first live concert in San Jose, CA. The opening act for Ronnie Montrose was a little known band called AC/DC. We're talking the early days with Bon Scott on vocals and of course Angus and Malcom Young on guitars. After seeing Angus rip it up in all his crazy school boy uniform and spin around on the floor I was sure I wanted to drop the clarinet and learn guitar. I convinced my dad to let me learn guitar by using his Shinano Classical that had been napping in the closet for many years.

At right about the same time ( 1978 ) I started to learn guitar the first Van Halen album came out and I went and saw them opening for Black Sabbath in San Diego, CA. I had already bought and almost worn out their first album and like most every other dude into Rock n' Roll I was blown away by Eddie Van Halen's guitar playing. Van Halen completely SMOKED Black Sabbath that night. Ozzy was kicked out of Sabbath very shortly thereafter. The rest is history really!

So I guess at this point I've been playing guitar for about 33 years and I still love it and I'm sure I will till I break on through to the other side.
