Career

I'm very lucky to have been able to be employed for almost 20 years in the digital design and technology field. Can't really call it work actually.

I am the Chief Technology Officer or CTO which is just a fancy title for my role as Web Developer (aka Code Monkey) at Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in beautiful Southern California, USA. Been there for 19 years now and I have to say it's a pretty cool gig. I started as a Graphic Artist, worked my way into the role of Graphic Design Manager, then fairly recently shifted gears to become the company's Web Guy. I'm enjoying the step away from some the management aspects and feeling refreshed in learning new skills in Web Design & Development. So much to learn but that is cool really! Love to learn new stuff.

I have done freelance design work in the past and I am currently considering marketing some aspects of my art & designs online. Not sure yet exactly what but feeling it might be time soon to dive in and break some new ground.

Other than that a few jobs I've had in the past . . .

Dish Washer at Aunt Emma's Pancake House lol....sucked (first job)
Drapery/Window Covering Installer with a pot smoking, born-again christian boss...lol
Plant Caretaker at a flower/plant shop
Carpet Installation (slow down of work led to going back to school for digital design)

Yeah . . . Glad I do what I do these days . . .Life's too short to hate what you do for a living.

Pursue what makes you happy, if you love it . . . it's not work!
